Rockwall, TX – July 18, 2025 – The Rockwall Art League is excited to host an immersive Cell Art Workshop led by artist Amber Goodwin on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM at The Center, 108 E Washington St, Rockwall, TX 75087.
Cell art, a stunning form of acrylic pouring, uses layered colors manipulated with tools like palette knives or hair dryers to create unique cellular patterns and lacing effects. This hands-on workshop is perfect for both beginners and experienced artists looking to expand their techniques.
Participants will learn:
Color Theory & Paint Preparation – Understanding paint densities, opacities, and the best brands and mediums for cell creation.
Silicone vs. Medium-Based Cells – Exploring different methods, including the use of Australian floetrol.
Blow Dryer Technique – Controlling airflow to create soft, ethereal designs.
Swiping Technique & Composition – Using palette knives to achieve ombre effects, negative space, and bold cellular patterns.
The workshop is split into two sessions:
11:30 AM – 1:30 PM: Color theory, paint techniques, and blow dryer practice.
1:30 PM – 2:30 PM: Lunch break.
2:30 PM – 5:30 PM: Swiping techniques, composition, and final project creation.
Students will practice on two 8×8 canvases (one for each technique) before creating a final 12×16-inch masterpiece to take home.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Rockwall’s creative community to learn from a skilled artist and explore the fascinating world of acrylic pouring.
