Event Will Feature Judges, Attorneys, Health Experts, and Local Officials Addressing Key Legal and Social Issues
Mesquite, TX – July 31, 2025 – Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church and Verna’s H.E.L.P. Foundation invite the public to a Free Community Legal Clinic and Forum on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Mesquite Friendship Baptist Church, 680 East US Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas 75149.
This community event is designed to provide critical legal, health, and human services information directly from those who serve in local government and advocacy roles. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from and engage with county judges, district attorneys, tax officials, health leaders, attorneys, and elected representatives on issues affecting their daily lives.
Topics of discussion will include:
- Re-entry programs for formerly incarcerated individuals
- Property tax laws and concerns for seniors
- Housing and utility assistance
- Eviction prevention and tenant rights
- Medicare and Medicaid access
- Labor laws and workplace protections
“We have received countless calls from residents seeking clarity on legal procedures, healthcare access, and tax laws,” said Verna Melton, Founder and President of Verna’s H.E.L.P. Foundation. “This event is about connecting people directly with the resources and answers they need—especially our seniors and those living on fixed incomes.”
