Rockwall, TX – December 2, 2024 – In response to numerous voter inquiries regarding the upcoming May 3 local elections, the Rockwall County Republican Party Voter Guide Committee has compiled and released a new Voter Guide to help inform the public about candidates running for City Council, Mayoral, and School Board positions across Rockwall County.

Although these local races are officially non-partisan, hundreds of voters reached out to GOP Headquarters requesting insight into the political leanings of the candidates. To maintain neutrality and transparency, the Voter Guide Committee sent a detailed questionnaire to all candidates facing opposition, focusing on issues of broad concern to Rockwall voters.

Candidates were asked to respond to 16 multiple-choice questions and four paragraph-style questions. School Board candidates received one additional education-specific question. The candidates’ responses were scored based on alignment with conservative principles, with unanswered questions receiving a score of zero.

A total of 27 candidates submitted completed questionnaires. Their top shared concerns included:

  • Smart Infrastructure and Traffic Solutions
  • Controlled, Responsible Growth and High-Density Development Management
  • Public Safety Prioritization
  • Smart Economic Development
  • Commitment to Master Comprehensive Planning

Candidate questionnaires, along with individual conservative principle scores (with 100 points as the maximum), are available for public review on the Rockwall GOP website at: https://rockwallgop.org/.

The Rockwall County Republican Party encourages all residents to review the guide, learn about the candidates, and make informed decisions ahead of the May 3 elections.t rockwallgop.com.
