Martha Jo (Marty) Adams, age 76, of Rowlett, TX, passed away September 8, 2022. A sixth generation Texan, Marty was born April 30, 1946, in Houston, TX, to J.T. (Tom) and Marjorie Ethel (McMurrey) Hunter. Martha was a resident of Rowlett for 46 years but made the trip home to Houston frequently to spend time with her beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was a member of Lake Pointe Church where she sang in the choir and worked in the newborn nursery for several years. Martha loved her family very much and was dedicated to their care. After her children were grown, she would continually remind them, “I gave my best years to y’all.” She enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, Texas A&M Football, and cooking shows. She never forgave Jerry Jones for firing Tom Landry.

Marty enjoyed anything and everything nostalgic. You could often find her watching ‘old’ movies, cross-stitching, and socializing with her friends. She served in various roles at the Credit Union of Texas for 27 years, making several lifelong friends.

Marty is survived by daughter: Stephanie Aguilar and husband Elder; son: Andy Adams and wife Allison; sister: Sarah Richardson and husband Bruce, and their daughters Lauren and Lindsey; her mother-in-law: Irene Menges; sisters-in-law: Debra Allen and Elizabeth Heslep and husband John; and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 45 years, Thomas Wayne Adams.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 am Friday, September 30, 2022, at Lake Pointe Church Chapel.
