Albert “Al” Ray Dumas, age 81 of Garland, TX, passed away August 27, 2022. He was born July 30, 1941, in Weatherford, OK, to Raymond Harold and Alta Ora (Zacharias) Dumas. Al proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and after his tour of duty became an auditor for the U.S. Department of Defense. He was married on August 19, 1966, to the love of his life, Linda Beasley, and they shared 56 wonderful years. Al was devoted to his family and was always involved in family activities. He coached his sons in Little League football for many years and then remained supportive in all their sports throughout high school. He loved the outdoors. They had a home on Lake Palestine, where he enjoyed boating, skiing, fishing and teaching his sons and their friends how to do it all and to do it well. He also loved to hunt, especially wild turkeys, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Al was a man of integrity and a constant source of encouragement to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Al is survived by his loving wife: Linda Dumas; son: Randy Dumas and wife Michelle; grandchildren: Brooke Couch and husband Brandon, Meagan Dumas, Alex Dumas and fiancée Claire Demers, Andrew Dumas; brother: Roy Dumas and wife Jamie; and a host of extended family. He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his son Marty in 2021.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett with Dr. Russell Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. The family will gather with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
