Glenda Elizabeth Mendez, age 44, of Garland, TX, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2022. She was born August 27, 1977, in El Salvador to Guillermina (Molina) and Ernaides Mendez. Glenda graduated from Rockwall High School in 1997. She met her husband Guillermo in 1999. They were later married and raised their family in Garland. Spending time with her family was important to her, she loved to cook and gather with them. Glenda had a great sense of humor and loved to joke around. She was a sweet and happy person, and always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed help. Glenda enjoyed shopping, going to the movies, and watching home remodeling shows. She had a love for music, and loved watching Christmas movies all year round. Glenda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Glenda is survived by her loving husband: Guillermo Vazquez; sons: Mario Vazquez and Angel Frias; parents: Ernaides and Guillermina Mendez; sisters: Cindy Mendez and husband Samuel Leon Sis, and Luz Maria and husband Oscar Hernandez; and brother: Ismael Mendez. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2:00pm to 8:00pm with a rosary starting at 7:30pm Thursday, June 23, 2022, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, June 24, 2022, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1305 Damascus Rd, Rockwall, TX 75087. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
