Just after 9:00 am this morning, December 11, Garland Police were advised that Wylie officers were following a stolen vehicle in the area of North Country Club Drive and Pleasant Valley. Officers were made aware the car was recently stolen at gunpoint in Dallas.

The driver of the stolen vehicle turned into the north ally of the 1400 block of Bosque Drive and stopped. Garland paramedics transported him to a local hospital where he is in critical condition.

A handgun was located inside the stolen vehicle.

Investigators believe after the driver of the stolen vehicle stopped, he shot himself. There is no indication officers fired their weapons, and there were no other occupants inside the car.
