Oscar “Ottie” Halton Olson, Jr. passed away June 4, 2020, at the age of 87. He was born December 8, 1932, in Sabinal, TX, to Oscar Halton Olson, Sr. and Freda (Schwinge) Olson. Ottie was a member of Westover Hills Church of Christ and was married to his wife, Fran, for 59 years. He worked for Texas Parks & Wildlife in computer operations and enjoyed flying remote control airplanes. Ottie served his community and others as an Assistant Scout Master and he also made several mission trips to Mexico. Mr. Olson was referred to as a gentle soul with a loving but playful manner. He loved sharing jokes through email and e-birthday cards which were always in good fun.
Mr. Olson is survived by his wife: Helen (Fran) Francis Olson formerly of Austin, TX; and son: Karl Olson of Rockwall, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Rest Haven Memorial Park
