Thomas “Tom” Dennis McGrath Obituary

Thomas “Tom” Dennis McGrath, age 89, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on February 4, 2020. He was born August 15, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to Thomas Dennis McGrath and Frances (Zurawski) Lucas. Tom served his country in the United States Air Force. He received his business degree at DePaul University in Chicago. He worked for International Harvester (IH) and then started his own business, Industrial Fiberglass, in 1969. Tom was the youngest of three siblings. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and supporting his favorite Chicago sports teams. He and his wife Joanne enjoyed 61 years of marriage before she passed in 2013. Tom was a devoted family man. He will be missed deeply.

Tom is survived by his daughter: Laura Thomas Fortune and husband Dean; grandchildren: Madison Rhea Thomas, Morgan Shea Thomas, McKenna Rose Thomas, and Autumn Reese Fortune; sister-in-law: Rita Taucher; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife: Joanne McGrath; sisters: Lorraine Meehan, and Rosemary M. Lucas; and his parents.

Services will be held in Chicago, IL, at a later date.
