Lawrence Lowell Parks, II, age 79, and long-time resident of Royse City, TX, passed away on December 14, 2019. He was born January 10, 1940, in Wichita, KS, to Lawrence Lowell Parks and Eleanor Elizabeth (French) Parks. Larry grew up attending First Christian Church in Garland and later became a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Rockwall. He was a 1959 graduate of Garland High School, graduated from Arlington State College in 1963, and completed various training and certifications from the George C. Marshall Space Flight Center and Delgado College. Larry lived in New Orleans for several years, working for Boeing as an inspector of the Saturn V Moon Rocket, used in the Apollo lunar missions. He then moved to Clarkston, WA, repairing bikes at Reed’s Hardware, before returning to Texas, working at Pepperidge Farm and Nabisco until he retired.

Larry is survived by his sister: Jan Reed of Laverne, CA, daughter: Suzanne Nelson and husband Lige of Garland, TX; son: Lawrence Parks, III, and wife Elsa of Ennis, TX; grandchildren: Elijah Nelson and wife Sarah of Royse City, TX, Kaitlin Nelson of Garland, TX, Matthew Nelson and wife Hannah of San Diego, CA, Lawrence Parks IV and Libby Parks of Ennis, TX; stepdaughters: Lona Williams, Dian Byrne, Karen Hall, Patricia Tibbits and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by his wife: Carol Parks; parents, sister JoAnne Terry, and stepdaughter: Judy Keck.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, December 20, 2019, at Rockwall Memorial Cemetery, 409 W Washington St, Rockwall, TX 75087.
