Joyce Marrero Cawis Obituary

Joyce (Marrero) Cawis, age 46 of Rowlett, TX, passed away November 15, 2019. She was born April 30, 1973, in Baguio City, Philippines to Asterio Marrero, Sr. and Beatriz (Bondad) Marrero. Joyce was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was married on May 5, 2001 to her husband, Ira. She earned her B.S. in Nursing at St. Louis University and worked as a nursing supervisor at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

Joyce is survived by her husband: Ira Eric Cawis of Rowlett, TX; sons: Adriel Ira Cawis and Aundrey Joie Cawis, both of Rowlett, TX; siblings: Judith Leano of the Philippines, Leo Marrero of Canada, Jo-Ann Duna of the Philippines, and Asterio Marrero, Jr. of Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3905 Hickox Rd, Rowlett, TX, 75089. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will gather with friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home- Rowlett Location Tuesday, November 19, Wednesday, November 20 and Thursday, November 21 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
