Dallas, TX – April 17, 2024 – The School of Rock proudly announces that its House Band students from sister schools in North Dallas, McKinney, and Rockwall have been selected to perform at Summerfest, the world’s largest music festival. This prestigious opportunity marks a significant milestone in the musical journey of these talented young performers.

As the iconic AC/DC anthem suggests, “It’s a Long Way to the Top if You Want to Rock ‘N’ Roll,” and the School of Rock community couldn’t be more thrilled to support its budding stars as they prepare to take the stage at Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Excitement has been building as news of this remarkable achievement spread through stage announcements at the mid-season showcase and the bustling activity of a bake sale fundraiser at various performances. The outpouring of support from parents, students, and friends has been instrumental in propelling these young musicians toward their dream of performing at Summerfest.

To continue supporting the House Band students on their journey, the School of Rock is organizing a family-friendly fundraiser event at the Dallas Music Hall on April 28th. Hosted by the Varden family, this event promises an evening of live music, delectable food and beverages, and an enticing array of items up for bidding at a silent auction. The entire community is invited to attend this free event and contribute to the success of these aspiring rock stars.

For those wondering how they can further support the cause, opportunities abound. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate goods or services as auction items to help raise funds for the students’ trip to Wisconsin. Those interested in contributing auction items can contact Kiva at [email protected] for more information.

Parents interested in enrolling their children in the House Band program are encouraged to speak with their Music Director about audition requirements for the next round of auditions.

The School of Rock extends its heartfelt gratitude to all supporters for their unwavering encouragement and generosity as its students embark on this incredible musical journey to Summerfest.

On Sunday May 19, 2024, the Metro East Division of the Dallas Builders Association will host its 19th annual Cars for CASA auto show to raise money for Lone Star CASA, Inc.

This year the show will once again be held at the Rockwall County Courthouse. We have more parking places for entrants around the courthouse as well as spectator and trailer parking at the adjacent Rockwall County Library. In addition, there is a tremendous amount of green space and decomposed granite parkways between the rows of cars providing much needed room for participants shade tents. We are very excited about the fourth year at his venue.

CASA is a national volunteer movement that began in the late 1970s in Seattle. Its purpose is to find community volunteers to act as a “voice in court” for abused and neglected children. The first CASA program was established in Dallas in 1980. In Texas, there are 72 local CASA programs with 10,856 volunteers serving 30,136 foster children. Lone Star CASA, Inc. advocates for children in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties.

Cars for CASA, which is put on annually by more than 40 volunteers, has grown to become one of the most successful auto shows in North Texas. The first event in 2005 featured 80 cars and raised $2,600. This year’s show is expected to feature more than 400 cars and raised more than $100,000 for Lone Star CASA. To date the show has raised more than $820,000 for Lone Star CASA!!!

“We’re proud to play a role in helping CASA kids rebuild their lives,” said Dave Hambley. “The Cars for CASA show is a great way to support a worthy cause and raise awareness of the CASA role in our children’s lives.”

From vintage autos to cutting-edge cars, there is always something exciting to see at Cars for CASA. Attendees can also enjoy food and beverages from local restaurants. The event will have a live DJ and a 50/50 pot. CASA will also have a booth set up for any individuals that are interested in learning more about their organization.

Cars for CASA is sponsored by The City of Rockwall, Spiral X, Farmers Electric Cooperative, Rusty Wallis VW, Michael Joyce Properties, Ford Family Ranch, and many others.

In our dynamically expanding Rockwall County community, amid the diverse tapestry of local businesses, one local company is making a name for itself with its commitment to empowerment and results-driven marketing: Social Lab Marketing.

The Visionary Journey of Tori Salazar

Tori Salazar, husband Carlos and daughter Heavenly

In the depths of the daily grind, Tori Salazar found herself at a crossroads. Her husband toiled away for over 40 hours a week, while she juggled the roles of a devoted stay-at-home mom and determined college student. Financially, they scraped by, their resources stretched thin to feed their children. Despite the challenges, there was a palpable sense of contentment—a shared understanding born from their own tumultuous childhoods. In the simplicity of their lives, they found solace and gratitude for the little things.

Yet, amidst the routine, Tori harbored aspirations for more—for her family, her husband, and herself. It was during her college years, immersed in marketing courses, that her fascination with the dynamic world of marketing ignited. She recognized its indispensable role in the success of every business, juxtaposed against the formidable barrier of exorbitant costs.

Tori’s revelation struck a chord: How could businesses thrive and invest in marketing without the financial means to do so? Why were so many entrapped in contracts with empty promises from behemoth marketing corporations? With these questions echoing in her mind, Tori’s entrepreneurial spirit soared.

Armed with determination and a vision to democratize marketing services, Tori embarked on an audacious endeavor. With not a dollar to her name, she laid the foundation for what would become Social Lab Marketing—a beacon of affordability, integrity, and personalized service in an industry dominated by corporate giants.

The inaugural year proved to be her crucible—the challenges daunting, the doubts relentless. Yet, buoyed by unwavering resolve and fueled by the trust of her burgeoning clientele, Tori persevered. Word of mouth became her most potent marketing tool, as satisfied clients became fervent advocates, propelling Social Lab Marketing into the spotlight.

A Personalized Approach to Success

Today, Tori’s brainchild stands as a testament to her unwavering commitment and entrepreneurial acumen. From humble beginnings in Texas, Social Lab Marketing has transcended borders, garnering acclaim and clients from across the globe. Tori’s journey, marked by adversity and triumph, serves as an inspiration—an embodiment of the transformative power of perseverance and the boundless possibilities of entrepreneurial spirit. Tori’s journey into entrepreneurship was fueled by a desire to make marketing accessible to all, regardless of budget constraints. Her path from a stay-at-home mom and college student to the founder of Social Lab Marketing embodies resilience and a steadfast commitment to her vision.

Central to Social Lab Marketing’s success is its personalized approach. Tori emphasizes the importance of understanding each client’s unique needs, crafting tailored strategies, and fostering genuine relationships.

The agency’s success is propelled by its team of dedicated professionals, passionate about staying ahead of industry trends and delivering tangible results. Tori takes pride in her family-owned and operated business, upholding high standards while fostering a collaborative environment.

Social Lab Marketing aims to alleviate the burden of marketing for business owners, allowing clients to focus on core operations. Tori recognizes the challenges businesses face, particularly in managing time and resources, and offers solutions that drive growth and success.

Celebrating Success Stories

At Social Lab Marketing, success isn’t just measured in metrics; it’s defined by the transformative impact the agency has on its clients’ lives. Among the myriad success stories it has had the privilege to witness, one milestone holds a special place in its heart—a testament to the power of innovation and unwavering dedication.

In the nascent stages of their journey, during their inaugural year, the agency encountered a client whose concrete business was languishing, garnering no more than a solitary lead per week from their social media efforts. It was a familiar tale—one of untapped potential stifled by the constraints of conventional marketing strategies.

Determined to effect change, they delved into the realm of “funnels”—a novel approach that promised to revolutionize their client’s digital presence. Weeks of meticulous planning and refinement culminated in the unveiling of a meticulously crafted funnel, poised to unleash a torrent of leads and opportunities.

The agency vividly recalls the moment when their client sat across from them, anticipation hanging thick in the air as they unveiled their creation. Little did they know that within hours of its launch, the impact would be nothing short of seismic.

The following day, the client reached out with news that exceeded their wildest expectations. What began as a trickle of inquiries quickly burgeoned into a deluge—2 messages, then 5, then 10, until the floodgates burst open, inundating the client with an abundance of prospects.

The sheer exhilaration in the client’s voice was palpable—a testament to the transformative power of the partnership. In that moment, they knew they had not only brought tangible results but also blessings in abundance to the client’s family.

Community Engagement and Giving Back

As they reflect on this pivotal moment, they are reminded of the profound impact they have the privilege to make in the lives of their clients. Their success is the agency’s raison d’être—a testament to the unwavering dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence that defines Social Lab Marketing.

Their commitment to building successful businesses for generational wealth isn’t just a slogan—it’s a guiding principle that underscores every endeavor they undertake. Years later, the client’s company continues to thrive, serving as a beacon of success and prosperity for his family.

Beyond its professional endeavors, Social Lab Marketing is deeply ingrained in the Rockwall community, embodying values of compassion and giving back. Tori and her team are actively involved in various charitable initiatives, embodying their belief in the power of community and connection.

Looking Ahead: Empowering More Businesses

The post Do you Really need a REALTOR when Buying or Selling a Home? appeared first on The Rockwall Times.

]]>
With all the recent news regarding REALTORS® and commissions, I wanted to share why you need a REALTOR® when selling or buying a home.

First off, all REALTORS® are members of NAR (National Association of REALTORS®) and are required to operate their business in compliance with the NAR Code of Ethics which was adopted in 1913, and was one of the first codifications of ethical duties adopted by any business group. The Code ensures that consumers are served by requiring REALTORS® to cooperate with each other in furthering clients’ best interests.

NAR Equals Professionalism, which is paramount in the real estate industry, where trust, integrity, and expertise are essential for building lasting client relationships and achieving business success. In the dynamic and competitive realm of real estate, professionalism serves as the bedrock of trust and credibility.

Importance of Professionalism in Real Estate:

Builds Trust & Credibility: Professionalism instills confidence in clients, reassuring them that their real estate transactions are handled with expertise, honesty, and integrity.

Ensures Compliance: Adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines helps REALTORS® navigate legal and regulatory complexities, minimizing risks and liabilities.

Integrity and Ethics: Conducting their business with integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct at all times, prioritizing the best interests of clients above personal gain or profit.

Enhances Reputation: A professional image contributes to a positive reputation in the industry. Professionalism fosters positive client-agent relationships based on transparency, communication, and mutual respect, leading to greater client satisfaction.

Education and Training: REALTORS®are required to invest in ongoing education and professional development to enhance knowledge, skills, and expertise in areas such as real estate law, market trends, negotiation techniques, and ethical conduct. Obtaining industry-recognized certifications or specialized credentials demonstrates their commitment to professionalism and excellence.

Transparent Communication: Maintaining open and honest communication with clients, providing clear explanations of the buying or selling process, market conditions, pricing strategies, and potential risks.

Client-Centered Approach: REALTORS® are to focus on delivering exceptional service and personalized solutions tailored to the unique needs and preferences of each client, building trust and loyalty in the process.

Networking and Collaboration: REALTORS® are expected to build professional relationships with other real estate professionals, industry stakeholders, and community partners to foster collaboration, share insights, and expand referral networks, which are all beneficial to their clients.

Regularly seek feedback from clients, colleagues, and mentors to identify areas for improvement and refine skills and practices accordingly.

Community Involvement: REALTORS® are to engage in community activities, volunteer initiatives, and philanthropic efforts to demonstrate commitment to giving back and making a positive impact beyond real estate transactions. Continuous Improvement.

Do you really save money by NOT using a REALTOR®?

NO! According to Orchard.com FSBO (For Sale by Owner) homes sold at a median price of $310,000 in 2022, whereas agent-assisted sales had a median price of $405,000.3 Assuming the current national commission average of 5.37%, the commission would be about $21,750. With a Realtor, your sale would net $383,000 — $73,000 more than if you had sold on your own.

In conclusion: In the fast-paced and competitive world of real estate, professionalism is not just a desirable trait but a fundamental requirement for success. By embodying professionalism through education, ethical conduct, transparent communication, and client-centered service, REALTORS® build trust, and more than pay for themselves.

Jerry Welch, Realtor

Jerry Welch is a full-time, professional REALTOR® with over 17 years in real estate and specializes in helping seniors’ transition. He holds an SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) designation, which reflects his extensive education on topics such as tax laws, probate, estate planning, and equity conversion strategies. He offers relevant information on current market trends as well as being a valuable resource regarding real estate transactions. He was one of the founding members and is a past chair of the Rockwall Chamber SSA (Senior Services Alliance) Program. (972) 800 3915
