H-E-B Rockwall officially opens to the public Wednesday, October 29, at 6 a.m.

Excitement filled the air Tuesday afternoon as local leaders, H-E-B executives, and invited guests gathered for a private ribbon cutting and preview tour of the much-anticipated new H-E-B store in Rockwall. The celebration marked a major milestone in H-E-B’s expansion into North Texas — and a warm welcome to one of Texas’ most beloved grocery brands.

Guests were treated to guided tours of the impressive new facility, which showcases a wide array of fresh and prepared foods, in-store convenience options, scratch-made tortillas, and an expansive bakery and meat market. Attendees also sampled authentic Texas barbecue while meeting members of the H-E-B leadership team and more than 700 new partners (employees) preparing for the store’s public opening at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 29.

Mayor Tim McCallum expressed the city’s enthusiasm for the arrival of H-E-B and the promise of long-term community partnership:

“We are thrilled to welcome H-E-B to Rockwall — a company with deep Texas roots and a true commitment to our community,” he said.

Among the featured speakers was Stephen Butt, President of H-E-B’s Central Market and North Texas Division, who reflected on the journey to bring H-E-B to Rockwall and the company’s enduring connection to Texas values. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see the excitement of the Rockwall community,” Butt said. “Our partners have poured their hearts into creating a store that represents the best of who we are.”

Also speaking at the ceremony was Juan-Carlos Rück, H-E-B Executive Vice President, who emphasized the company’s people-first culture and commitment to serving with excellence.

“What makes an H-E-B store truly special isn’t just the products on the shelves,” Rück said. “It’s the people behind them — the partners who care deeply for their customers and their communities.”

The community-focused nature of the event was reinforced through two charitable announcements. H-E-B presented a $10,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Texas and another $10,000 gift to Patriot Paws Service Dogs, a Rockwall-based nonprofit that trains service dogs for veterans.

The presentation to Patriot Paws featured a moving moment as H-E-B partner and U.S. veteran Joseph shared how the organization had matched him with his service dog years earlier. Joining him on stage was Patriot Paws founder Lori Stevens and her service dog, highlighting the lasting bonds between the organization and the community it serves.

H-E-B also honored longtime leader Mike, who is retiring after more than 40 years with the company. He was described by colleagues as the “Batman” to a longtime partner’s “Robin,” drawing warm applause from the audience of city officials, employees, and guests.

Throughout the afternoon, H-E-B leaders emphasized a simple goal: to make the Rockwall store your H-E-B. One executive shared,

“This amazing group of leaders and partners are going to make you feel a certain way when you walk through those doors — you’re going to call this your store.”

As the ribbon was cut and photos were taken, excitement filled the store. With hundreds of partners ready to serve local families, H-E-B Rockwall officially opens to the public Wednesday, October 29, at 6 a.m., welcoming shoppers to experience a new chapter of Texas tradition — right here at home.
