Rockwall, TX – August 28, 2024 – Boys Team Charity, Lakeside League, celebrated the success of its first-ever Philanthropy Expo on Sunday, August 18. The event brought together over 100 attendees, including members and local organizations, creating an impactful space for volunteers to connect with the missions they support and deepen their understanding of their contributions.
The Expo featured booths from various local nonprofits, giving members and their families an up-close look at the impactful work being done in the community. The highlight of the event was the “Tell the Story Challenge,” where each organization had five minutes to share the heart and purpose behind their work. Following these powerful presentations, families voted on the most compelling stories.
Award Winners:
First Place: Feed My Starving Children, awarded $5,000
Second Place: Patriot Paws, awarded $3,000
Third Place: Grace Clinic, awarded $1,500
Honorable Mentions: All other participating organizations received a $500 donation.
In a heartfelt gesture, Boys Team Charity member Caden Conover, Class of 2030, donated his raffle prize—a $50 Visa gift card—to Meals on Wheels to further support their mission, highlighting the community spirit that defines Boys Team Charity.
