Reverend Jeffery Louis Thibodeau

Reverend Jeffery Louis Thibodeau, age 63, of Garland, TX, passed away May 15, 2022. He was born May 28, 1958, in Rhinebeck, NY, to Edgar Louis Thibodeau and Marjorie (Rogers) Thibodeau. Jeff was a graduate of Rhinebeck High School in Rhinebeck, NY, and Northwestern College in Orange City, IA. During his time at Northwestern College, he met his wife of almost 42 years, Luann. They were married in Midland, MI. He went on to earn a master’s degree from Emporia State University and started his career as a substance abuse rehab counselor in Emporia, KS. After several years, he was called to the ministry and obtained a Masters of Divinity from New Brunswick Theological Seminary. He dedicated his life to the ministry, serving as pastor to the Reformed Church in Ft. Plain, NY, and Annville Reformed Church in Annville, KY, for ten years. After he retired from Annville Reformed Church, he continued to minister through his preaching, writing and shepherding ministries. In 2015, Luann and Jeff made the move to Texas. For many years he suffered from multiple sclerosis and when he retired he continued his ministry at the nursing home. The church was very important to the Reverend, he loved his church and church family at Lake Cities Community Church in Rowlett, TX. Reverend Thibodeau loved his family and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Jeff is survived by his loving wife: Luann Thibodeau; sons: Greg Louis Martinez Thibodeau and wife Cheryl, and Patrick Thibodeau and wife Jessica; granddaughter: June Thibodeau; grandson: Beck Thibodeau; and sister: Alison Thibodeau Martin and husband Richard. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Lake Cities Community Church, 8601 Liberty Grove Rd, Rowlett, TX. Interment will take follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, May 20, 2022, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lake Cities Community Church memorial landscaping fund.
