One drowns, another hospitalized at Lake Ray Hubbard

ROCKWALL, Texas — One person drowned and another was taken to a hospital after they reportedly went for a swim in Lake Ray Hubbard on Sunday night, officials said.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday to the Rockwall County lake, northeast of Dallas.

Four people were on a boat when two went for a swim, police said. Crews responded from the Rockwall side of the lake.

One person died and another was taken to a hospital after they were recovered from the water. Rescue crews were administering CPR to the person who was taken to a hospital, police said.

According to the fire department, neither were wearing life vests.

Their names and ages have not been released.

Lake Ray Hubbard is under the jurisdiction of Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue. Both agencies, along with Rockwall firefighters, responded to the call.
