Melverna Belle Lane age 83 passed away February 9, 2022, at her home in Rowlett, TX, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born March 19, 1938, in Mountainair, NM, to Reginald V. and Pearl (Wood) Wilson. To Melverna, her family was most important. She was a devoted homemaker who loved her family dearly and was very involved in everything they did. Her grandchildren were very special to her, and she had Green Day Money that she gave them to buy gifts for their parents. Melverna enjoyed going to Choctaw and said her most frequent saying was “do you need my address.” She had a joyful spirit and her presence will be deeply missed.
Melverna is survived by her husband of 58 years: Robert Lane; daughters: Terri Lynn Berkey, Tammie Hogge and spouse Wayne; sons: Dale Lane, Victor Pearce and spouse Sam; 40 grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, daughter-in-law Brenda Lane, and grandson Timothy Berkey.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday, February 18, 2022, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rowlett Location. There will be a gathering of family and friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
