Five DECA students earn State Finalist and three advance to International Competition

Dr. Gene Burton College & Career DECA students recently competed at State Career Development Conference where five students earned State Finalist and three advanced to compete at the DECA Virtual International Career Development Conference (ICDC). 

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, business, finance, hospitality and management. International qualifiers will compete against DECA students from around the United States and countries abroad in April.

State Finalists and International Qualifiers:

Lillian “Lilly” Cardenas (Senior, RHS) – Restaurant and Food Service Management

Sarah Odom (Senior, RHHS) – Business Services Marketing

Keva Testa (Senior, RHHS) – Apparel & Accessories Marketing 

State Finalists:

Isabelle Demengeon (Junior, RHHS) – Start-Up Business Plan

Meghan McGriff (Senior, RHHS) – Marketing Communications
