The Garland Police Department are investigating an apparent homicide after the body of an unidentified 18-year-old male was found today.
Garland police officers were called this afternoon to a deceased person found behind the Walmart at 555 W. Interstate 30 near Broadway Blvd. The victim was identified as an 18-year-old male from Dallas.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage from the store which revealed a shootout between at least two individuals had taken place Sunday night.
Officers believe this is when the victim was hit by gunfire. It is unclear if there was anyone else injured.
