The City of Rockwall has received the following information from its water provider, the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD):
To clarify, neither ERCOT nor Oncor has any plans to discontinue the power service to the North Texas Municipal Water District Wylie Water Treatment Plant Complex. With the assistance of local and regional elected officials, NTMWD has confirmed that power will remain online, and NTMWD will retain the capability to produce and distribute potable water in all but the most dire situations.
Any public notices stating that NTMWD will lose power this evening are not factual. The City currently has capacity to service its residents and provide fire protection.
