In a social media post on Thursday morning, the City of Rowlett addressed concerns that citizens had regarding the Sapphire Bay development.

The post assured citizens that Sapphire Bay was not for sale.

“The development is under construction and has made great progress, even faced with the challenges presented by the ongoing pandemic,” the post states.

According to the post, Sapphire Bay Land Development, LLC has recently engaged a local brokerage firm, DuWest Realty, to begin marketing efforts to attract commercial tenants for the commercial lots that front along IH-30.

“This commercial development has always been a component of the Sapphire Bay plan,” the post continues. “These efforts, along with upcoming announcements of major entertainment anchors around the Sapphire Bay lagoon, will begin to establish the first phase of vertical development expected to begin in late 2021.”
