Hometown Christmas, Kiwanis Christmas Parade, Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to be held December 5

The Kiwanis Christmas Parade and Hometown Christmas in Downtown Rockwall will take place this Saturday, December 5. All events are FREE, outdoors, and may look a little different this year, but Rockwall will still ring in the holidays in grand style.

Schedule for the day:

51st Annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade 9a

The Kiwanis Christmas Parade will begin at 9am. The parade will begin at the Rockwall County Courthouse located at 1111 E. Yellowjacket Lane and will wind through Historic Downtown Rockwall and will end at Dobbs Elementary.



Hometown Christmas in Downtown Rockwall will be held from 10am until 5pm.

• Christmas Market in the San Jacinto Plaza
• Masked & Merry shopping – Win 1 of 3 Downtown Rockwall shopping sprees valued at $500, $250 and $100! – Receive a free gift for participating• Festive Christmas music all day with a DJ in San Jacinto Plaza
• Find Frosty Scavenger Hunt
• Balloon artist
• Drive-thru Toy Drive for Rockwall Co. Helping Hands from 1pm until 5pm at Cain Park located on the northwest corner of Kaufman St. and San Jacinto St. (Look for the giant elf!)
• Information booth located in the San Jacinto Plaza

37th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held from 6pm until 8pm on the lawn of Rockwall City Hall located at 385 S. Goliad.

Events will include:
• Create ornaments and holiday decorations for your home
• Drink hot chocolate and devour holiday cookies (provided by Rockwall Women’s League)
• Live holiday music by the Steve Story Band
• Jolly Ole St. Nick drops by to listen to your children’s Christmas wishes – Bring your camera for a memorable picture with Santa
• Individually pre-packaged crafts for kids
