On Wednesday, at 5:31pm, Dallas Fire-Rescue was assigned to a 911 call for a water rescue, at Lake Ray Hubbard, after someone went into the water and never resurfaced.

Multiple agencies, including DFR, Rowlett, the Game Warden’s Office and DPD’s Dive Team, assisted, in what was designated a recovery effort, well into the evening hours.

According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, search teams felt like they had an idea of where the body was, however unfavorable lighting conditions forced them suspended efforts for the night for safety reasons.

This morning, DFR’s Marine 1, DPD’s Dive Team and the Texas Game Warden resumed efforts. At approximately 12:30 p.m. the body was successfully recovered.

According to Rowlett Police Department’s official Twitter, there was a missing 24 year old male swimmer reported near Lakeview Parkway and Edgewater Drive in Rowlett.
