Authorities respond to reports of plane crash at Lake Ray Hubbard

At 8:50pm on Sunday, Rowlett Police and Fire Department responded to a report of a plane crash along Interstate 30 between Dalrock and Horizon.

Reports were that the plane was in the water.

At 9:03pm Dallas Fire Rescue was on the scene and was searching for the plane that was reported to have crashed into Lake Ray Hubbard. Rowlett PD and FD could not locate the plane.

Dallas Fire Rescue has now taken over the investigation.

According to Dallas Fire Rescue, after the investigation nothing was found in regards to this incident. Last night several agencies responded to LRH, but found nothing (smoke, fire, debris, oil slick, etc.) that would indicate a plane crashed. There are no follow-up efforts being conducted by DFR today.

Last week DFR was dispatched to a similar call. However, it turned out to be an amphibious plane practicing its take-offs and landings on the water, and someone mistook it as a crash.

Per DFR, this incident could possible be more of the same in this case.
