Lennie Mae Wright, age 91, of Balch Springs, TX, passed away on March 30, 2020. She was born December 29, 1928, in Trinity, TX, to Robert Lee Brown and Mary Ellen (Mann) Brown. Lennie was the person everyone would come to. She was kind and never raised her voice. Lennie was a devout Christian who never met a stranger. She loved to dance with her husband. Lennie was a great baker and she was known for her biscuits and gravy, pie, and cakes. She was affectionately called Nanny by everyone who loved her. Her presence will be deeply missed.

Lennie is survived by her daughters: Mary McClung of Balch Springs, TX, Bobbie Watkins of Richardson, TX, and Brenda South and husband Ronnie of Fate, TX; grandchildren: Tamara Thompson-Hipp and husband Brandy of Seagoville, TX, Dawn Vargas of Pittsburgh, TX, Angela Dickson of Greenville, TX, Erica South of Fate, TX, and Aimee South and husband Kevin of Fate, TX; great-grandchildren: Justin Thompson, Steven Cross, Kassie Dickson, Cory Dickson, and Jordan Allen; great-great-grandchildren: Tyler, Michael, Robert, and Zayden; aunt: Faye Eppes; uncle: William “Bill” Denton and wife Dorothy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years: Robert Wright; son-in-law: S. J. Watkins; uncle: Robert “Bob” Denton; and several brothers and sisters.

A private graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
