Alfred Mendez Lopez, age 70 of Rowlett, TX, passed away April 1, 2020. He was born December 18, 1949, in Lamesa, TX, to Antonio and Helen (Mendez) Lopez. Freddy served his country in the U.S. Army and after completing his term in the Army, joined the U.S. Marines and served another full term. Following his military service, he worked as a commercial welder. Freddy was of the Pentecostal faith and is remembered as loving and caring by his family and many friends.
Freddy is survived by his wife: Rebeca Lopez of Rowlett, TX; children: Alicia Lopez and husband Duke Jones of Sulphur Springs, TX, Monica Torres and husband Ramon of Grand Prairie, TX, Sunny Lopez and wife Tammy of Irving, TX, Reyna Medrano and fiancé Jonathan Sherwood of Rockwall, TX; siblings: Albert and Julia Lopez, Jesse and Tina Lopez, Joel and Irene Lopez, and Rosa Telles; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will be at DFW National Cemetery. Services are pending.
