In a video posted to Twitter yesterday, Tiger King star Jeff Lowe, alongside his wife Lauren Dropla, announce that one additional episode will be released “next week”.

It is unclear what the episode will cover; if it will be a continuation or a reunion of sorts. As a general rule, Netflix adds new episodes of its original shows on Fridays. This means that the earliest we might see the new Tiger King episode would be Friday, April 10.

Tiger King premiered late last month and has quickly become the hottest quarantine TV obsession.

The series follows the bizarre life of private zoo owner Joseph Maldonado-Passage, aptly known as Joe Exotic, the owner of a zoo full of hundreds of tigers and other rare animals. Exotic is currently serving a 22-year sentence after he was found guilty of animal abuse charges and for setting up a murder-for-hire plot against his rival fellow big cat owner, Carole Baskin.

Earlier this week, Exotic was transferred to Fort Worth FMC, a medical center operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, where he is currently under coronavirus quarantine. His husband Dillon Passage, confirmed that an inmate where Exotic was previously held tested positive for the virus.

After it’s launch, the bizarre true crime docuseries became the most popular show on TV, according to Rotten Tomatoes. The site currently shows a 92% critic’s rating and a 89% audience score. It also currently sits No. 1 on Netflix’s own Top 10 shows list, and has stuck around on the rankings for two weeks.
