All residents and staff of Broadmoor Medical Lodge have been tested for the COVID-19 virus. To date, there are a total of 26 COVID-19 cases, 20 residents, and 6 staff. Of these 26 cases, 11 were asymptomatic and showed no signs of having COVID-19.
“This is why it’s important to wear a mask when around others, asymptomatic spread is occurring. The total number of positive cases in this update does not match the graphic update on Facebook or the County website,” Rockwall County Office of Emergency Management said in a statement. “This is because Broadmoor has shared real-time information with us and the Department of State Health Services (DSHS) data lags a bit behind. Prayers for all.”
The first death related to COVID-19 was reported on Saturday, April 25. The deceased was a resident of Broadmoor Medical Lodge that had previously tested positive for the virus.
