A few years after moving to Dallas in 1977, Mike started working for Lifetouch, a school photography company, until he retired at age 58. Tennis, golf, walking, bowling, traveling, betting on the horses and playing cards kept him active, but it was really his love for family, friendships and community that fulfilled him.

Mike is survived by his wife, Julie Reiter, of Rockwall, TX; daughter: Amanda Reiter and partner, Bruce McLean, of Dallas, TX; son: Jeff Reiter and wife, Jennifer, of Carlsbad, NM; grandson: Elliot McLean; granddaughters: Jessica Reiter and Kaleena Reiter; former wife and friend: Annie Holmes; stepsons: Mark Safford and wife, Karen, of Forney, TX, and Mike Safford of Rockwall, TX; granddaughters: Farrahmacie Safford, Victoria Safford, Alexis Crofton, and Abby Bahlman; and great-grandson: Kayson Dean. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Abraham.

A celebration of my Mike’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rockwall, followed by food and fellowship at Lakeside Village Community Center (gate code 8559). A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at a later date in Cedar Park Cemetery in New Jersey.
