Lois Marie (Benningfield) Christman, 83, passed away March 24, 2020. Lois was born September 8, 1936, in Clarksville, Texas to Eldridge Wilson Benningfield and Mary Etta (Rodgers) Benningfield.

Lois was a 38-year resident of Royse City, Texas. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and was a member of the Sit & Sew in Royse City. As an avid reader, she was a member of Royse City Book Club, and enjoyed gardening and being around her family. She also enjoyed watching her six great-grandchildren play sports. They often came over after school to get cookies, and she sugared them up then sent them home. She worked at American Heart Association for over 35 years and Albertson’s for 13 years. Lois was hard working so much of her life, then went back to college and received her bachelor’s degree in accounting at the age of 50. Even at 83, she was showing her great-grandchildren how to bust a move at our gatherings. Being full of life, ready for a road trip, helpful, kind, devoted to her family, always laughing or making someone else laugh is how Lois, also known as Sister, Mama, Aunt, Nana or special friend, will be remembered.

Lois is survived by her daughter: Sheree Lynn Jones and husband Jerry; granddaughters: Amber Perez and husband Nacho, and Ashley Jones and husband Kevin Brown; great-grandchildren: Isaak Perez, Devyn Garcia, Symphony Brown, Italia Perez, Zavier Brown and Ivan Perez; brothers: Wilson Benningfield and wife Judy, James Benningfield and wife Ethel, and David Benningfield; nieces: Tonya Davis, Jamee Benningfield, Denise Benningfield-Creila and husband Mark, Holly Benningfield and husband Marco, Lorel Benningfield and Victoria Brushe’; nephews: Kirk Benningfield and wife Sejal, Cohen Benningfield and Johnnie Benningfield and wife Lillie. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years: George Christman; parents: Eldridge Wilson Benningfield and Mary Etta (Rodgers) Benningfield; and her brother: Johnnie Benningfield.

Private graveside services will be held.
