James Kelly Baumann passed away peacefully at the age of 58 on March 16, 2020 at his home in Rowlett, TX. He was born April 27, 1961, in Post, TX, to Arthur Jerome and Norma Gean (Saffel) Baumann. Kelly married his high school sweetheart and soul mate Theresa Lynne Davis August 1, 1981, and they shared 38 wonderful years. He was a member of Lake Pointe Church and is remembered by family and friends as faithful and devoted. Kelly loved his Lord and Savior, serving as a Sunday School teacher at different levels and serving his church in many different capacities.

He attended and graduated from Post High School in 1979 and attended San Angelo State University for one year before going to work for GTE. After working in Hobbs, N.M. for 15 years he transferred to Rowlett, TX. working for Verizon until 2010 as a Transmission and Protection Engineer before working for AT&T, teaching pole climbing. He received his Business Management degree from University of Phoenix in 2010.

Kelly loved to hunt, camp, fish, golf and all things Texas Tech being an avid fan. He loved history, visiting several Presidential Libraries through the years. Never having met a stranger, he was known to talk with people in elevators which always embarrassed his sons. He was a loving father and cherished spending time with his sons, Koby and Kaiser, as well as his three grandchildren Aiden, Landon, and Paisley.

Kelly is survived by his wife: Theresa Baumann of Rowlett, TX; sons: Koby Baumann and wife Ashley of Rowlett, TX, and Kaiser Baumann and wife Becca of Rockwall, TX; mother: Norma Baumann of Post, TX; sisters: Donna Stotts and husband Randall of Blue Springs, MO, and Jerri Locknane and husband Morris of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren: Aiden, Landon and Paisley. He was preceded in death by his father.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 am Friday, March 20, 2020, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall, TX. The family will gather with friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
