FORNEY, TX – On March 2, 2020 at about 8:25pm, officers with the Forney Police
Department on proactive patrol observed a vehicle that matched the description of a one used in a porch piracy (i.e. theft of property from porches/package theft) incident form earlier in the day. Upon conducting a traffic stop, officers were able to search the vehicle and locate drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine.
There were two occupants in the vehicle: Victoria Mendoza, a 38 years of age resident of Garland and Daniel Sias, a 47 years of age resident of Dallas. Mendoza and Sais were charged with HSC 481.115 (b), Possession of a Controlled Substance under one gram, a State Jail Felony, and HSC 481.125, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Class C
Misdemeanor.

The vehicle used in this offense and at least one earlier porch piracy
offense was a green Kia Soul. Sias admitted to stealing property from porches; however, no stolen property was recovered in the vehicle. The Forney Police Department Criminal
Investigations Division is continuing to investigate this case, and additional charges are likely.
