FORNEY, TX – The City of Forney’s number one priority is the health and wellbeing of residents and our employees. Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that for the next eight (8) weeks, organizations cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more. To abide by the recommendations put forth by the CDC, the City will be postponing the April 4th “Festival on Main” downtown event and the retirement celebration of Fire Chief Rick Townsend on April 7th. Both of these important events will be rescheduled as soon as conditions allow for the safe assembly of large groups of people.
In the meantime, City officials will continue residents to practice good hygiene such as avoiding close contact with people who are sick, staying at home when you are sick, covering your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing to reduce the spread of germs, washing your hands thoroughly and often and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
