Armed 17-year-old arrested after reports of vehicle burglaries in Forney

FORNEY, TX – At about 3am on March 10, 2020, the Forney Police Department
received reports of suspicious activity in the Fox Hollow neighborhood from concerned citizens. Forney PD Patrol officers arrived and located multiple persons that fled on foot.

Deshae Woodard, a 17 years of age Dallas resident, was among those who fled after
being directed to stop by officers. Woodard was apprehended in the 1100 block of Citabria Street. Woodard was in possession of a loaded handgun, and he was arrested and charged with Texas Penal Code 46.02 Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Texas Penal Code 38.04 Evading Arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor.


Officers were unable to locate the other involved subjects. Forney PD has taken multiple reports of burglary of vehicle offenses this morning in the neighborhood. This case
remains under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, and additional charges are possible. Residents of Fox Hollow are asked to review any surveillance footage around the 3am hour they may have and report any information that may help
identify the other offenders involved.
