Laura Lee Hope Shaffer Watts, age 71, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on February 13, 2020, at her home. She was born June 21, 1948, in Flint, MI to Kenneth Hope and Maxine Lowry Hope.
Laura was a nurse for over 50 years, receiving her degree from Trinity Valley College in Kaufman, TX. Her favorite pastime was reading a mystery novel. She also enjoyed plays and musicals. She was passionate about everything Christmas, even leaving her tree and stockings up year around. One of her favorite things to do was to host a meal with her family and friends. She loved her fur babies, the late Buster Sr. and Buster Jr, who were both completely devoted to Laura. She always had a smile for anyone and has a fantastic sense of humor.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Paula White; niece Lisa Gilder; granddaughter, Danielle Hildebrant and her second husband, Paul Shaffer.
Laura is survived by her husband of 13 years, William Watts; son, Keith Hildebrant, and wife, Judy of Wills Point, TX; daughter, Stacy Holley and husband Jim Bob of Greenville, TX; grandchildren, Zachary Holley and wife Joanna, Heather Gattis and husband Craig, Brayden Holley, Christopher Hildebrant, and Austin Hildebrant; great-grandchildren, Esther Holley, Asher Holley, and Lily Gattis; sisters, Marcia Rush and husband Harris and Linda Smith; and brother, Kenneth Hope and wife Julie.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 2500 State Highway 66 E, Rockwall, TX. Visitation from 9 – 10:00 AM.
