The Lady Hawks Swim & Dive had a strong performance at the UIL State Meet, highlighted by STATE CHAMPION Alaya Smith’s 100m Breaststroke. Alaya is the first-ever Hawk to win an event at the UIL State Swim Meet! Alaya set a school record at 1:01.48, which is an automatic All-American time.

Karly Merriott finished 10th in the State in the 500 Freestyle. Our Diver, Darby Ratcliffe, finished 14th in the State in 1 Meter Diving. Lastly, the Girls Medley relay team of Kylee Conrad, Alaya Smith, Amelia Bird, and Josie Gillentine finished 11th in their event. All of these performances in the finals resulted in a program finish of 18th in one of the fastest High School meets in the country.

The Boys Swim program finished with a program-best of 26th place. Grayson Tidwell set the school record in the 100 Backstroke at 50.08. Grayson finished 7th overall in the 100 Backstroke the following day. The boy’s relay team, comprised of Logan Graham, John Papp, Grayson Tidwell, and Lucius Yu-Kisselbach, made the finals in both Freestyle relay events (200 and 400). Both relays finished 13th in the meet, and the 400 Relay was .01 second away from breaking the school record!
