Nolberto Monarrez, age 77, and longtime resident of Royse City, TX, passed away on January 7, 2020. He was born June 6, 1942, in Mexico, to Lazaro Monarrez and Inez (Pineda) Monarrez. Nolberto loved his family dearly. He was a very loving person and a friend to everyone. Nolberto enjoyed teasing his grandchildren and it was important to him to attend their sporting events. He loved the country life, horses, collecting guns, and traveling. Nolberto loved to eat and his favorite dish was chile rellenos. He enjoyed music and dancing. Recently, he enjoyed going to Royse City Bulldogs football games with his family. He will be missed deeply by everyone who loved him.

Nolberto is survived by his children: Maria Monarrez and husband Manuel Bañuelos, Jose Reyes Monarrez, Lazaro Monarrez and wife Maria, Margarita Monarrez, Maria Monserrat Monarrez, Sandra Monarrez and husband Homero Amaya, Oscar Norberto Monarrez and wife Victoria, and Nallely Sarahi Monarrez and husband Jose Israel Hernandez; and grandchildren: Juan Manuel Bañuelos, Arely Bañuelos, Edgar Monarrez, Judy Monarrez, Johnny Monarrez, Luis Enrique Monarrez, Jotselin Monarrez, Brittany Monarrez, Juan Cesar Anguiano, Andrew Anguiano, Steve Anguiano, Johanna Maciel, Abraham Isaac Maciel, and Genesis Maciel, Jacob Amaya, Devanny Amaya, Oscar Monarrez, Mackenzie Monarrez, Natalie Hernandez, and Valerie Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law: Sergio Maciel; and first wife: Alvina Ruacho.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 13, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location with Chaplain Enrique Contreras officiating. Interment will follow in Royse City Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will take place Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
