It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing from this world to our eternal heaven of our beloved Randy on Sunday, November 3, 2019. During his courageous battle with cancer, he didn’t lose his sense of humor, as he tried to make everyone feel comfortable with his passing. He was 71 years old. He was born February 5, 1948, in Beckley, West Virginia. His family moved to Sarasota, Florida, where he enjoyed a great childhood by the ocean with family. In 1959, the family moved to Wichita, Kansas so his brother, Ronny, could get help with his special needs.

Randy will be remembered as a multi-talented individual having worked in graphic design, aircraft engineering, architectural design, and construction oversight. When personal computers came out, he took on a new challenge and mastered PCs by himself, which led to a rewarding career with The Boeing Company starting in May of 1985. With this endeavor spanning over 25 years, he will be remembered as a mentor; having a leadership style to promote the employee’s ability to make correct decisions, develop their skills and achieve their goals. His hobbies included making pottery, sailing, genealogy, and photography. His favorite memories were the times he could spend with family or friends.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley; daughters: Jennifer Gardner (Keith), and Amie Davis (Derek); 4 wonderful grandchildren: Parker and Carter Davis, and Laken and Lailey Gardner; brother: Robert Moon (Darlene); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father: Vincent (Brud) Woodard Moon, Jr.; his mother: Louise Ada Anderson; and his brother: Ronny Moon.

A celebration of Randy’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 18, 2019, at LakePointe Church, 701 E Interstate 30, Rockwall, TX 75087.

A memorial for Randy has been established with St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
