Today, the Texas Democratic Party announced new additions to our growing team. The new team members include Targeting Director Hudson Cavanagh, Deputy Organizing Director Kassandra Aleman, Deputy County Services Director Claire Frueauff, Content Strategist Julien Gomez, Content Strategist Hannah Lifshutz, and Finance and Events Associate Brett Isaacs. The Texas Democratic Party is also proud to announce the promotion of Nate Levin from Training Program Manager to Deputy Training Director and Maddie Cohen from Finance Assistant to Deputy Finance Director.
Texas Democratic Party Executive Director Manny Garcia issued the following statement:
“Texas is the biggest battleground state. That’s why the Texas Democratic Party continues to build our team of dedicated political professionals. Every single day, the Texas Democratic Party is providing the resources, tools, data, and guidance our elected officials, candidates, county parties, and activists need to win. With Hudson, Kassandra, Claire, Julien, Hannah, and Brett we are closer to taking back our state.

Hudson Cavanaugh, Targeting Director
Hudson was born and raised in New York City where he developed his lifelong passion for Democratic politics and belief in the power of data to create change. He developed his data science skillset helping startups – most recently, BounceX – build and deploy machine learning models for applications ranging from evaluating lawsuits to add-to-cart recommendations. Hudson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Middlebury College with a B.A. in Political Science and Latin American Politics.
Kassandra Aleman, Deputy Organizing Director
Kassandra Aleman is the deputy organizing director at the Texas Democratic Party. Last cycle she worked on the Beto for Texas campaign, where she helped oversee operations across the South Texas region. She previously worked at the Texas Legislature, where she primarily focused on healthcare, border economics, and higher education issues. She is passionate about mobilizing marginalized communities and empowering others to find their voice.
Claire Frueauff, Deputy County Services Director
Growing up in Little Rock, Arkansas, Claire understood at a young age what happens when activists and Democrats do not have a seat at the table. Before graduating from Hendrix College, she worked full-time on a multi-million dollar statewide ballot issue campaign as an organizer and finance assistant. Since moving to Texas, she has worked for State Representative Jessica González, advance for Elizabeth Warren, and graduated from the Texas Democratic Party’s Staff the Movement program. As a native of the Natural State, she is passionate about the outdoors, coffee, and live music.
Julien Gomez, Content Strategist
Julien Gomez is a first-generation Texan, born and raised in Houston. They majored in public relations and journalism in college and discovered their passion for social justice during an investigative journalism class on The Innocence Project. Julien is the co-host of Veer Queer, a Spectrum South LGBTQ podcast that focuses on the voices of queer and trans people of color. Before joining the Texas Democratic Party, Julien worked at the Montrose Center, an LGBTQ mental health organization.
Hannah Lifshutz, Content Strategist
Born and raised in Texas, Hannah joins the Texas Democratic Party from Complex Networks, where she was a news writer and editor with an emphasis on politics. While developing written content for Complex, Hannah was also working at Paper Magazine, where she produced photo and video content for the outlet’s digital platforms and magazine. While working towards a dual degree in political science and international affairs from Northeastern University, Hannah interned at the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and Planned Parenthood South Texas. She is thrilled to be joining the Texas Democratic Party to help amplify Democratic voices across her home state.
Brett Isaacs, Finance and Events Associate
Brett Isaacs is a Washington, D.C. native and a graduate of Tufts University, where she received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in History. At Tufts, Brett passionately engaged in political discourse and activism on campus and in the community leading organizations such as the Tufts ACLU Chapter and CIVIC, an organization dedicated to promoting political bipartisan discussion between students. In addition to her work on campus, Brett volunteered for multiple campaigns, repeatedly traveling to New Hampshire to campaign for Democrats in 2016 and raising awareness about District Attorney’s races in North Carolina and Massachusetts. Before coming to work at the Texas Democratic Party, Brett interned for U.S. Senator Ron Wyden in Washington, D.C. and served as a network fellow for the Roosevelt Institute in New York, N.Y.
