Rep. Ratcliffe files paperwork for re-election

In an email Representative John Ratcliffe announced he has filed the proper paperwork to run for re-election.

The email read as follows:

Friends,

Today, I had the privilege to file my paperwork for re-election as your congressman. Serving Northeast Texas in “The People’s House” is the privilege of my lifetime, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to represent three-quarters of a million great Texans each and every day.

This election is going to be different than any other election we’ve ever had. Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff and National Democrats have been trying to impeach President Trump since day one. They are trying to negate the outcome of the 2016 presidential election and influence the outcome of this important 2020 race.

Don’t take my word for it, Texas Democrat Al Green let down his guard and spoke the truth by saying, “I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get reelected.” In their obsession with impeaching President Trump, the Democrats are engaging in a gross abuse of power.

Even though the Democrats are focused on one thing, President Trump and our Republican party are transforming the crippling policies of Barack Obama. Under President Trump’s leadership, our economy is booming. Jobs are plentiful. Unemployment is at a 50-year low. Salaries are rising. Confidence is sky-high. Our military is stronger than ever. Taxes are down. Regulations have been slashed. We are energy independent.

I’m incredibly grateful to be supporting President Trump’s policies that truly have contributed to making and keeping America great. I’m also very optimistic about continuing to work alongside President Trump to accomplish even more great things for the American people after the 2020 election.

In true Texas fashion, our campaign will not take anything for granted. I am determined to run my best race ever, and I welcome your support as we continue to push back on the Democrat narrative of turning Texas blue.

As always, I appreciate the support that I have received from you throughout the years as your congressman. I am thankful to have you as a vital part of our team and with your support, I look forward to continuing serving you in the U.S. House of Representatives.

God Bless You, Texas and America,

John Ratcliffe
