Rockwall PD warns of traffic delays, road closures during Hot Rocks Bicycle Ride

The Annual Rockwall Rotary Club Hot Rocks Bicycle Ride will take place on Saturday, August 10, 2019, between the hours of 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

The ride will Start/Finish at the Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium located at 1215 TL Townsend Drive. Expect heavy delays and some road closures around the stadium.

There are three different rides scheduled for Saturday. One of those rides will be all in Rockwall and two of the rides will leave Rockwall and go into Collin and Hunt counties.

Bicyclists will be utilizing the outside lanes of both northbound and southbound John King Blvd. from Justin Road to N. Goliad St. These outside lanes will be closed to vehicle traffic. Both inside lanes will be open to vehicle traffic in both directions.

Other areas in Rockwall that will have bicycle traffic are N. Goliad St. from N. John King to Collin County Road 483, FM 552, Old Millwood Rd., Camp Creek Rd. and Anna Cade Rd. The bicycle route will also be using Texas State Highway 66 in Royse City and in Rockwall County.

There will be police officers or deputy sheriff’s at many intersections to assist with the traffic.
