Rockwall business hosts Texas’ largest Thin Blue Line flag

Rockwall, Texas September 14, 2020 – Ekin Nutrition raised the area’s largest Back the Blue; Thin Blue Line flag today in front of their store on Interstate 30. Erected 4 years ago the 50’ American aluminum pole was designed to hold flags such as the Texas flag or that of our Nation. But today it was used for a new purpose. The 12’x18’ Thin Blue Line Flag was raised to show support for local and national law enforcement.

The term ‘Thin Blue Line’ is a term for police that is used to assert that they are the line which keeps society from descending into violence and able to for civilization and order to thrive. This design has gained popularity in recent years as brutality towards police officers has risen in events. Last week two Los Angeles police officers were ambushed in their car. Both officers are still listed in critical condition.

“I don’t do anything, unless I can do it big!” says John Hagaman, Owner of Ekin Nutrition. “Countless people in uniform put their lives on the line for us everyday and any time I can say thank you and show some support, I will” Hagaman, a life long resident of Rockwall says he can’t imagine living or raising his family anywhere else than Rockwall.

The flag measuring in at 216 square feet flag was manufactured in Arkansas and shipped to Rockwall last week. Hagaman states that this makes this design and size the largest recorded commercial flag in Texas. “The smallest county in Texas has to have the biggest flag” joked Hagaman.

The flag is located in the Rockwall Village shopping center on the Southwest corner of Interstate 30 and Ridge Road.
