The Rockwall City Council took action today in keeping with the Governor’s Executive Order GA-28 which states:

“For any outdoor gathering in excess of 100 people… the gathering is prohibited unless the mayor of the city in which the gathering is held, or the county judge in the case of a gathering in an unincorporated area, approves of the gathering, and such approval can be made subject to certain conditions or restrictions not inconsistent with this executive order.”

At today’s meeting, the Council discussed the status of upcoming public events in the light of current COVID-19 concerns. With the Mayor’s approval in a 4-1 vote, the Council decided to continue the events through July 4. Everyone is encouraged to take personal responsibility and celebrate the holiday in a manner most comfortable for them.
