Rowlett man accused of killing 24-year-old Rockwall woman posts high bond

Andrew Beard of Rowlett has posted a $1-million bond and is expected to be released from the Dallas County Jail by Friday.

Beard turned himself in to Carrollton Police on Friday after learning there was a warrant for his arrest. He has been charged with the murder of 24 year-old Alyssa Burkett of Rockwall.

Burkett was arriving to her workplace in Carrollton when she was repeatedly stabbed and shot.

The two shared a child and court records show that Burkett had been awarded custody just days before.
