Dianne (Shewmake) Youden, age 57, a resident of Rowlett, TX, for 34 years, passed away April 9, 2020. She was born April 8, 1963, in Garland, TX, to Jack Maurice Shewmake and Dorothy (Griffin) Shewmake.
Dianne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who made a career for herself in the healthcare field. She never met a stranger, and usually through conversation would find some form of connection or a relative that they had in common. She worked for 32 years for Garland Eye Associates. Dianne was a Certified Ophthalmic Technician and eventually became the Clinical Manager for the practice. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fan. She would stay up however late was needed to cheer her team to victory. This was no small task, as she would yell at the top of her lungs as if they could hear her cheering them on. Dianne loved softball, and she played in many leagues over the years. She loved dining out and she especially enjoyed her Mexican food. Dianne supported her husband and her sons in all that they did, throughout their lives.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years: David James Youden; sons: T.J. Ellison and wife Kelly Anne, and Brock Ellison; granddaughter: Leah Paige Ellison; brother: Jack Shewmake and wife Judy; sister-in-law: Mitsy Shewmake; brother-in-law: Mark Dowlen; eight nieces and nephews, six great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of other family members who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jack Maurice Shewmake and Dorothy (Griffin) Shewmake; brother: Ronnie Shewmake; and sister: Roxanne (Shewmake) Dowlen.
Private family graveside services are scheduled, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the MD Anderson Cancer Foundation at the following link: http://mdacc.convio.net/goto/dyouden63.
