Richard Lopez, Jr., age 40, of Richardson, TX, passed away on March 4, 2020. He was born on October 30, 1979, in Lubbock, TX, to Richard Lopez, Sr. and Gloria (Perez) Lopez. Richard loved going to church and was a strong-willed, godly man. He was a hardworking Master Plumber who was funny and very respectful, and it was always important to him that his shoes were shined. In his free time, Richard enjoyed many hobbies, including playing Xbox and going to Jack in the Box, but his very favorite pastimes were fishing, playing drums and cooking his delicious meals for family and friends. He loved his family dearly, especially his kids. Richard’s parents nicknamed him “Bizard” and he affectionately called them “Mommy” and “Dada.” He loved his animals, Lola, Whopper, Nikita and Maximus. Richard will be dearly missed by everyone who loved him.
Richard is survived by his parents: Richard Sr. and Gloria Lopez; son: Richard David Lopez; daughters: Andrea Lopez, Natalee Lopez, Anna Lopez, and Reagan Lopez; sister: Lori Ann Jaso and husband Danny; brothers: Adam Lopez and wife Melinda, and Timothy Lopez and wife Kourtney; and nieces and nephews: Alex Lopez, Mia Lopez, Gage Lopez, Gracely Lopez, and Daniel Paul Jaso.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Dallas Apostolic Church, 3052 N. Belt Line Rd, Sunnyvale, TX 75182, with Pastor Ryan Condren officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will take place Monday evening at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
