Bettye Jeanne (Vaden) Salley Obituary

Bettye Jeanne (Vaden) Salley, age 88, and a life-long resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away February 27, 2020. She was born September 19, 1931, in Rockwall, TX, to Sam R. Eubank and Mable (Cade) Eubank. Bettye loved her family, especially her grandkids, and cherished every opportunity to gather the family together. She always had time to visit and listen to what ever any of her many family members or friends wanted to discuss. In her free time, she loved to garden. Bettye had a green thumb and turned it into a business, “Salley’s Nursery,” which she started in 1975 and retired from in 1997. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rockwall and enjoyed monthly meetings with her friends at local cafes. Her sweet spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter: Tammy Hemphill and husband Tommy of Rockwall, TX; son: Gary Vaden and wife Cynthia of Rockwall, TX; brother: Don C. Eubank and wife Brenda of Marble Falls, TX; grandchildren: Dustin Vaden and wife Diedra, Brandy Hanna and husband Rick, Aaron Selden and wife Adrienne, Blair Selden and wife Ashley, Kenyon Richard and husband Andrew, Todd Hemphill and wife Rebecca, Tori Hemphill; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; father of her children: Gene H. Vaden; second husband: John Salley; sisters: Ola Beth Crawford and Joanne Page; and two brothers: Jim Bob Eubank and Warren Randall Eubank, and granddaughter Teeka Hemphill.

A celebration of Bettye’s life will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 3, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
