Fred Wendell Smith, Jr., age 77, of Plano, TX passed away on February 7, 2020. He was born August 27, 1942, in Wichita, KS, to Fred Wendell Smith, Sr. and Pauline (Stansberry) Smith. Fred was a world traveler. He was a brilliant man with many hobbies and interests; a true renaissance man. He was also a 32-degree KCCH Scottish Rite Mason. Fred will be missed deeply by everyone who loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years: Maricia Kaye Smith; children: Angela Cordobes and husband Edward, Stephanie Lindsey, Melissa Steging and husband Rod, Theresa Gray and husband Lance, and Scott Smith; grandchildren: Alec, Dash, Isabella, Cooper, Kaylee, Kyler, Michaela, and Sara; sister: Cindy Hamilton and husband Preston; two nieces; one nephew; and special dogs: Dee & Tuck.
A celebration of Fred’s life will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 8787 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX, 75243.
