ROCKWALL, Texas — The Rockwall Area Small Business Alliance (RASBA) will welcome local business leader and author David Vega as the guest speaker for its September networking meeting, where he will present practical ideas for operating and leading a small business.
Vega’s presentation will draw from his recently published book, Running the Business: A Practical Guide to Operating and Leading a Small Business, which focuses on the challenges business owners face both in managing the mechanics of a company and leading the people behind it.
The presentation will address practical topics ranging from business planning, financial discipline and day-to-day operations to leadership, decision-making, communication and organizational culture.
“Small business owners are often expected to be the salesperson, financial manager, strategist, problem solver and leader, sometimes all in the same day,” Vega said. “My goal is not to tell business owners how to run their companies, but to share some practical frameworks and lessons that can help them think more deliberately about how they operate and lead.”
Vega originally developed Running the Business as a free resource for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Following strong interest in the digital guide, the material was expanded to include a greater emphasis on leadership and formally published in paperback and eBook editions.
As part of the September program, every attendee will receive a complimentary paperback copy of Running the Business.
Vega is the CEO of Rockwall Capital Group, a Rockwall County-based investment and advisory firm that works with small businesses and nonprofit organizations. He is also the author of several books and essays exploring business, leadership, decision-making and human behavior.
The September gathering is part of RASBA’s monthly networking and educational program for area business owners and professionals. The organization meets on the second Tuesday of each month and provides opportunities for local business leaders to connect, exchange ideas and learn from guest speakers.
