The new center will support 300+ new graduate vets and 10,000 pets annually
Carrollton, TX – July 2026 – Operation Kindness Humane Society and Mission Pet Health will host a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Dr. Barbara Craig Surgical Mentorship Center.
The surgical center will create more professional opportunities for new graduate veterinarians in North Texas and from across the country by providing real-world, hands-on education led by Operation Kindness Humane Society veterinarians. Mission Pet Health mentees will learn shelter industry best practices, complex surgical techniques, and build a network of support.

This partnership responds to the need for greater surgical capacity for spay and neuter surgeries for shelter and community pets while enhancing mentees’ surgical experience. The new center is expected to support more than 300 new graduate veterinarians and 10,000 pets annually.
